StudyWorld attracting wider range of UK-focused delegates
A major Chinese business delegation, representatives of London embassies and UK training providers are among attendees at this year’s StudyWorld.
Ten CEOs, presidents, founders and other senior leaders from major Chinese education businesses are attending the international student event for two days as part of a focused inward trade mission organised by the Department for International Trade. They will participate in a day of meetings with UK educators and another day of roundtables showcasing the UK’s expertise in subjects including continuing professional development, assessment and STEM. StudyWorld is the only interntaional education event focusing exclusively on the UK.
StudyWorld Commercial Director Tim Barker said: “We are growing the scope and ambition of StudyWorld, attracting a wider range of buyers and educators with interests in everything that UK education has to offer. We have buyers with diverse interests and educators representing more of the sector, and that is something we will continue to develop.”
Jodie Gray, English UK’s director of strategy, added: “We are celebrating StudyWorld’s 50th anniversary this year: it has thrived because it has led the way in innovation and relevance, anticipating and responding to the needs of a developing international education market.
“Two years ago, we moved to the QEII Centre, pioneered meeting passes and refocused our event to showcase the best of the UK to the rest of the world. This year, we are fully hosting our international agents and buyers, and we have a special programme for foreign embassy and diplomatic mission staff. We’re already planning next year’s developments.”
Over 700 delegates from 56 nations will attend this year’s event from Monday 2 – Wednesday 4 September at London’s QEII Centre, taking part in up to 42 formal business meetings each as well as informal networking events.
We celebrate StudyWorld’s 50th anniversary with a party on the evening of 3 September, and event speakers include former international student and NUS officer Yinbo Yu at the Welcome Reception and author and journalist Tim Marshall and businessman Lord Bilimoria during Tuesday’s keynote session.
