A UK education – benefits on a global scale
We are pleased to announce that Gavin Esler, one of the UK’s most respected and well-known journalists and broadcasters, will deliver the keynote address at StudyWorld on Tuesday 5 September.
Gavin’s long and distinguished career has taken him across the globe reporting on events and interviewing leading global figures. More recently, after leaving the BBC, he has become the Chancellor of the University of Kent, which, with two UK campuses and centres in four European cities, describes itself as the “UK’s European University.”
Gavin will bring his knowledge, experience and personal insight to Studyworld to illuminate the benefits of international education to both individuals and their nations, highlighting why this is vital at a time of international uncertainty and instability.
There will be questions from the floor, with Gavin supported by an expert panel of senior representatives from the international educational sector, before a closing address is given by Mark Garnier, who is the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department for International Trade and has responsibility for education.
For anyone working in the international education sector, this keynote address will offer a unique and inspiring perspective on the benefits of creating global citizens and enhancing cross-cultural understanding, and how the sector and governments can work together to develop this.
Held from 12:00 to 13:15 on Tuesday 5 September, there are no business appointments during the keynote address. StudyWorld seminars are a key part of the experience, we encourage all our delegates to attend:
